1. Toluol – for 100ml of urine 2ml toluol
2. Thymol – small floating lamp of thymol. Several day preserved but protein
can be false
positive.
3. Formaline – 1drop for 30ml of urine.
Advantage: Good for preservation the formed element.
Disadvantage: Pricipitated protein & can reduce Benedict solution.
4. Boric acid- 3gm for 120ml urine.
Disadvantage: Yeast can grow. Uric acid crystal precipitated.
